To some the game of chess has died with the advent of computers, but I believe that chess set is not dead. Machines will never replace humans, because we care more about what fellow humans do than what machines can do.

It wasn’t long ago that the prediction was made that home video stores and VCRs would put movie theaters out of business within the decade. But even with the easy availability of rented movies, no less than seven new movie complexes have been built in Sacramento in the last eight years.

Why are movie theaters still so popular? Because there is nothing that can compare to the smell of popcorn, the giant screen and the enthusiasm shared by the audience that cannot be replicated at home.

Television comes into almost every home in America, and yet live theater is still alive. At least it is in Sacramento. Here, theater lovers can see a different play almost every week of the year without seeing the same play twice.

Why is theater still so popular? With so many channels on television, you can see whatever you like whenever you like it. But there’s nothing like watching a live play, or hearing music played by a live orchestra.

No runner can beat a car, yet we still cheer as marathon runners cross the finish line. Machines have been made that can pitch a baseball with more accuracy and speed than a human pitcher, but no machine draws crowds the way a favorite athlete can.

No matter how impressive the machine, not one of them will ever receive their own baseball card, and no crowd will pay to sit in the stands and watch them play. We admire the skill and artistry of our fellow humans, knowing that when we watch them, we are seeing something truly impressive.

This is why animation and CGI will never replace the actor. We might admire the skills of an animator like Chuck Jones, but Bugs Bunny will never earn the admiration we give to Robert DeNero and Meryl Streep.

Computers have been playing chess since the mid 80s, and can be useful when it comes to training. But they will never replace the feel of a chess set in your hands or the challenge of a real human being.

And we admire the winners, those with the best grasp of strategy (or brute calculations) because it was a human doing the calculating. Deep Blue will never earn the respect we give to players like Garry Kasparov.

Sometimes a movie comes along that just makes you sit up and take notice. And leave the theater wondering how in the world the writers and directors convinced the actors to star in the movie, and the producers to pay for the movie. Sometimes these movies are a flop, but sometimes they are fantastic masterpieces that otherwise never would have been made had it not been for the visionary writers. “Crank: High Voltage,” starring Jason Statham is such a film.

Our fabled account starts with the hero being thrown out of a helicopter. The oversize thump he makes on the soil makes the evening news, of course, but not before his body is scooped up and taken away in a van crammed with questionable characters. Next thing we know, our central character is lying in a make shift hospice, and being operated on by a medical doctor with a cigarette hanging out of his lips.

He wakes up, and finds that his heart has been replaced by a automatic heart. We find out that our hero has an unusually brawny heart, and it has been stolen to be implanted into the leader of a known criminal crowd somewhere in Southern California. So our character has to not only unearth his original heart, but he also has to locate someone to replace it out with the electrical one that has been rooted into him.

There’s only one problem. His electrical, fleeting heart runs off of an exterior battery that gets dented somehow. So he must always give himself electrical shocks to keep his impermanent heart from giving out on him. This makes for an out of the ordinary chase across the wilderness of southern California, as he battles gangsters from all walks of life.

All through the entire escapade to locate his previous heart, he is in constant contact with a friend of his, who happens to be a skilled open heart general practitioner, although we learn he has had his medicinal license taken away due to some regrettable mishap that unfolded with an ex girlfriend of his. But even so, we believe that once our hero locates his initial heart, his friend will be able to swap it out with the counterfeit one.

We have the definitive crusade, which includes our character, two adversary gangs, and a gangster’s skull that is being kept full of beans in jar. In a last ditch effort to charge his heart one last time, our hero climbs up an electrical pole and zaps himself one last time. But the electrical shock proves to be a bit too stout, and he is engulfed in flames. Meanwhile, his accomplice lucratively finds his original heart, and his friend, the shamed heart surgeon, attempts to restore him to health. Will he be successful? The only way to find out is to rent this fantastic DVD, before it’s too late.

To quickly and easily watch full movie downloads, have a look at the best movie download site around today.

Most people play no limit Texas Holdem poker for fun, but the pros can make considerable money when playing in high stakes games. Poker takes a lot of skill and a little bit of luck. Whether you’re a beginner or an old hand at the tables, knowing when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em is very important. To make good choices, there are a few tricks that the pros use. In this article, we’ll share some tips that will be your ace in the hole when playing Texas Holdem poker.

It’s natural to want to hit the tables, but you need to rein in your enthusiasm until you get a handle on the Texas Holdem rules. This is definitely not a “learn as you go” kind of game. The first thing that you need to do is learn the rules and the language of the game. No one is going to want to sit around and wait while you figure out what to do! If you are playing Texas Holdem online, then print out the rules and a list of the shorthand to keep beside your computer. This will help you in a pinch. Another hard rule is to know when to quit. It’s as easy to have a bad night as it is to have a good night. If you find yourself repeatedly thinking, “One more hand, just one more hand!”, then it’s probably time to call it a night. Anything fun can be addictive, so set a strict limit on how much money you are willing to lose.

Practicing the fine – and fun – art of bluffing can help you win big at the tables. As the pros will tell you, having a great poker face is a big asset. Bluffing can help you when you suspect that an opponent has a better hand than you do. If you can “trick” or “bluff” them into thinking that you hold the better hand, thus getting them to fold, then you can rake in the pot. Yet timing is everything. If you bluff too much or raise out of position, then your opponents will catch on to your Texas Holdem strategy. Also, don’t cross your fingers and let it all hang out on a pure bluff. This Hail Mary move is never a good idea because an ace high rarely wins. You’re better off with a semi-bluff when you have a late position or you are only facing one opponent. Also, never bluff when a player has so much money in the pot that your raise or bet will not be enough to force him to fold.

One the other hand, getting caught trying to pull a fast one can work in your favor. A seasoned player will quickly figure out if you only raise when you have a good hand. This works against you because they will fold without putting their money on the table for you to rake in. Putting doubt into the minds of your opponents will force them into making tough decisions during big pots, and continually making your opponents make decisions is a strong strategy. Getting paid off with your big hands is what poker is all about, so if you find that everyone always folds when you bet big with a good hand, then try advertising your bluffs every once in awhile. Your body language speaks volumes, so use it to your advantage. Lean back, look relaxed, and let a little smile come to your face. Your opponents will never know what has hit them.

Poker is meant to be fun, so play in moderation. Don’t feel that you have to play every hand, as exercising patience is also one of the golden rules in Holdem. If you’re dealt a lemon during starting hands, then don’t try to make lemonade. It’s better to fold and not lose your shirt. If you really are serious about improving your Texas Holdem skills, then do some reading. There are some great books written by pros that can help you. Most importantly, know when to stop. Even the hottest winning streak must come to an end eventually, so keep your winnings in your pocket and know when to walk away.

There’s nothing quite like the drama of a great card game, and Texas Holdem is a favorite in every cardroom and online gaming site in the world. As Holdem becomes more and more popular, the game is attracting lots of new players. However, before beginners even think about playing for money, they should improve their pot odds by simply working on thoroughly understanding the Holdem rules. Knowledge is power at a poker table, so knowing the game inside and out will give you the upper hand. In this article, we’ve got some handy tips to help Holdem players improve their game.

If you want to play Texas Holdem well, then you must start with the basics and learn the Holdem rules of play. A typical game has up to ten players. In the pre-flop play, antes called the small blind and the big blind must be paid by the two players to the left of the dealer, respectively. The amount of the blinds and the time frame at which they increase is predetermined before the game starts, and the small blind is always half of the big blind. The dealer will then deal two cards face down to all players. These are known as pocket cards or hole cards. When you look at these cards, you must decide to limp in by matching the amount of the big blind, raise or call another player’s bet, check if no one else has made a bet, or fold. The round of betting stops when all players have either folded or called the last raise, and then the flop, turn and river cards are dealt, with continuous betting or folding options at each stage of play.

Position is also a very important factor. Being in an early position means you are one of the first to act in a round of betting. The dealer position (called the button) is considered the strongest position because you act last post-flop. Since all of the other players have made their moves, it is an advantage because you can act with more information, which is essential to making the right decision on whether to bet, raise, check, call or fold. Play moves around the table and each player is the dealer in turn.

Good players should also know how to work the fourth and fifth streets. Also know as The Turn and The River, respectively, the fourth and fifth community cards give you two more chances to either get out of the hand before you lose even more money or stay in to increase your winnings. This is where caution is important, especially if you weren’t dealt strong hole cards. After fourth street, don’t stay in the pot hoping for a straight or flush, unless you can do so without putting more chips into the pot. However, if you’ve already put a substantial ante into the pot, you may want to play aggressively by seeing the hand through. This is where good bluffers can really earn their money.

Thoroughly understanding the Holdem rules is the key to winning. As you gain experience, you’ll be able to read other players, bluff strategically and even “predict” cards to some extent. To get some valuable practice, invite your poker buddies over and have a home game, or play online games with $1 or $2 antes. It’s a great way to practice your strategies without losing your shirt.

When you see those games on television, the elegant poker tables where the players sit seem to create a luxurious atmosphere, don’t they? The rich, green fabric in the center, surrounded by the deep, padded rail around the edge creates almost a cocoon that shuts out the rest of the world, as the light shines down onto the table and players, leaving the rest of the room in shadow. The quiet contemplation of players planning their Texas Holdem strategy is all that exists.

Depending on where the poker game is being played, some poker tables are indeed luxurious. The ones in a casino may use genuine leather padding and bear the casino’s own logo in the center. Home versions can range from a flat top you set on your kitchen or dining room table, to one with fold-down legs. Either could be stored along a wall when not being used. Or you might have a full-fledged table in a recreation room. A proper table will certainly be one of your most prominent poker accessories.

A professional poker table is oval-shaped, yet the ones for a home setting might be round or even octagonal. Those in an actual casino have an indentation on one side where the dealer sits, while those for home use do not provide a special spot for the dealer. The fabric in the center is often a type of felt called baize, or a cloth with an extra coating that helps the cards slide easily. The padding around the edge, or “rail,” is where players can relax their hands during the game, and occasionally there will be a wooden “race track” between that and the playing surface, to hold their chips. Some more elaborate tables might even have cup holders set into this area. A table like this can truly augment a home game.

There are many places where you can buy a table, and some websites even provide plans so you can build your own poker tables. A table like this would be a perfect finale to the process of customization if you are getting serious about the game and have already gone so far as to acquire your own custom poker chip set. This could be the obvious next step. If you want to play the game in as authentic an atmosphere as possible, then a poker table might add the touch that will make your game complete.

Check the internet and contact Rene Lacape now. He is one of the best agents in the insurance industry.

You can have many teachers when learning poker, but a reliable way to improve your game, which otherwise could take years to learn at the tables, is to read poker books. There has been a barrage of such books in recent years, as poker has surged in popularity. They are usually written by expert players and theoreticians, and all these books come up in long lists when you search the web for them. The books are tailored for all sorts of needs, from beginner to more advanced players.

There are so many websites that offer books on poker, yet it would be impossible to list them all. But as an example of what’s out there, you might peek at www.thepokerbookstore.com, which specializes only in books that teach strategies for Texas Holdem. And www.tightpoker.com is perhaps a more extensive information site, but does regular, in-depth book reviews. These aren’t limited just to books that teach Holdem strategy, as the site covers what it considers to be the best available books for all games, at all levels.

There are probably as many authors of poker books as there are poker websites, so they’re equally impossible to list. But one name that frequently appears at the top of people’s lists is that of Daniel Negreanu. As a younger generation player, he has received much acclaim in recent years, and his book, “Power Hold’em Strategy” has been greatly anticipated. Serious Holdem players will not be disappointed, as the book provides a great deal of useful instruction.

When you are looking for poker books, run a web search and read both the customer and professional reviews. It will soon become clear that some books are better than others, and which ones are written for a particular skill level. Once you’ve narrowed the list down to a few books, look for them in bookstores or on websites where you buy poker accessories, such as poker chip sets, cards and tables. Soon you’ll be able to improve your skills and increase your winnings.

To have an insurance policy is to have security. But to find someone to help you is a little difficult. Rene Lacape can rescue you from your problems. He is a fine insurance agent who knows all the things you like to ask and show you how you get the best deal from it.

Imagine being able to win big poker pots without having to go to a casino. Thanks to the Internet, card fans can play online Texas Holdem any time of the day or night. The bonus of playing at home is that you can access Texas Holdem rules and tips that you wouldn’t have in a live game. This of course increases your pot odds. For the novice poker players, playing Holdem online is a chance to perfect strategic moves before playing opponents in person. In this article, we’ll look at the evolution of online poker and how it’s changing the way people play cards.

Texas Holdem has exploded in popularity in recent years. Television networks around the world carry major tournaments, such as the World Series of Poker, and many players have gained celebrity status. Who doesn’t know who Daniel Negreanu, Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Huck Seed, Joe Hachem, Jennifer Tilly or Annie Duke are? And the list goes on. Additionally, much of this popularity can be credited to online Holdem sites. These websites monitor traffic of course, and one site recently reported that during one 24-hour period 7,341 players played for real money in online Holdem tournament games, 7,072 players wagered real money in ring poker games, and that more than US$141 million was wagered in online ring games during that 24-hour period. That is a phenomenal amount of players, games and money changing hands!

There are several reasons why people opt to play Texas Holdem online. Convenience is the first benefit. Instead of having to get dressed up and getting to a busy, expensive casino, poker players can relax in their own home. There are no expensive drinks and costly tips eating into your winnings, no distracting crowds, and you can have books and notes at hand to help you play your cards more strategically. You can play any day of the week, at any time of the day. For poker novices, getting the chance to play Holdem online provides a wonderful training ground where they can get some experience without spending a lot of money. Many sites offer two-penny antes. However, the seasoned player with a tried and true Texas Holdem strategy can play at multiple tables simultaneously to increase their winnings.

Where there’s gambling there’s the potential for addiction and this is also true for online Texas Holdem. In addition to the problems the Internet presents for compulsive gamblers, betting sites are often a teenager’s first exposure to Internet gambling and the promise of big winnings. The earlier a person is exposed to betting and gambling, the more likely they are to develop a gambling problem later in life. People who play Texas Holdem online seem to be more vulnerable to addiction because of several factors. The person may not feel they are actually playing with real money because they are using a credit card, and online games are always available so it’s very easy to lose track of time. It is so important for players to exercise discipline and know when to walk away. If you think you’re developing an addiction to online gaming, then block the sites from your computer and seek help for a gambling addiction.

After a long, busy day, you may not want to get dressed up and go to a casino to unwind with a game of poker. Fortunately, technology can help you enjoy your favorite hobby. An online Texas Holdem game bypasses a costly buy-in, distracting crowds, and expensive drinks and tips. However, anyone with a penchant for gambling must be wary of the pitfalls that come with the convenience of online gaming. Be a disciplined player and limit how much time and money you spend on gaming. Online poker should be fun. The moment you stop enjoying it, log off. It’s the best thing for you.

The poker chips you use in a friendly game at home with family or friends are a far cry from the ones used in casinos in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Among the different types of chips that are out there, those generally used at home games are plastic versions, which were mass produced to replicate the real clay, custom poker chips that were first used in casinos from the 1880s to the 1930s.

The clay chip sets that have been traditionally used, and which are still used in some places even now, weren’t made entirely of clay except at the very beginning. It was soon discovered that the clay-only chips broke too easily, so the makers began creating them from composites, of which the most common one now is a clay-ceramic mix. It’s very unlikely that you’ll find this type of chip in a home set, however; as these would most usually be casino poker chips.

Some recent developments in poker chips also involve something like composites; the core is made of metal, with injection-molded plastic added over top. There are now even completely metal chips where colors and patterns are set into them by utilizing chemical or electronic processes. When one of these partially metal or all-metal chips has color, stamping and a pattern added, it may be hard to distinguish it from the older, more standard casino chip. But certainly the metal chips are more likely to be found in casinos, rather than in a home poker set, because of the expense.

The two most common poker chips, though, of all the existing types, are the cheaper plastic ones used at home and the most widely used professional versions used in casinos. Those look a lot like the original clay composite types, but are now usually made with of hard, injection-molded resin. Both these and the clay composites, though, will frequently be made from secret formulas specific to an individual casino, and will have added security features like markings that show up in ultraviolet light or radio frequency ID tags. Only poker chips casino versions are the real thing.

If you’re getting more serious about playing poker as a hobby, or are even considering dabbling in it as a money-making prospect, then you will want to acquire a poker chip set that will suit your needs. There are carrying cases of simple sturdy aluminum, or much more elaborate ones of wood or leather. And along with playing cards, dice and other accessories, you can choose smaller sets of 300 chips, or go with larger ones of 1000, and they can range from basic plastic to the heavier, more professional-looking clay chips.

Before you decide how elaborate you want to get though, you need to calculate how many players, on average, will participate in your poker party. Sets of 300 chips are probably enough for six players, or perhaps five in a Texas Hold’Em game. If you go up to seven or more, it’s probably best to consider poker chip sets 500, and perhaps even more than that. Some people recommend up to 100 chips per player, to be on the safe side. (After all, it’s better to have too many than to run out, right?) Once you decide on something like a 500 or 700 piece chip set, your decision might affect what sort of chip design you want, since the price will be higher.

Poker supplies are like everything else; the more mass-produced they are, the lower the cost. For this reason, any set you buy that contains the common plastic type of chips will be less expensive than ones that comes with, for example, the heavier, more professional chips of clay. And any specialized design imprinted right into a chip will require the creation of a new mold. So a poker chip set containing chips that are more distinctive, and perhaps more personalized, will cost you extra.

Another type of chip that might add to the expense of your poker chip set will be the most recent innovation, a metal-resin composite. Which type of poker supplies you buy will really depend on your goal. Do you just want to get on with the game, and don’t need the elaborate accessories? Or are you trying to add atmosphere as well, or put your personal stamp on your game? Whatever your intention, there will be a set of poker chips and accessories to suit you.

Insurance has been a necessity nowadays and to get a good one will take you to know a good agent. Rene Lacape fits the bills. With his great experience in the insurance industry, you will never go wrong. Check his website so he can start to help you now.

Once you’ve learned the game of poker and have realized that you want to keep playing, you may decide that buying one of the special chip cases is one way for someone to have a consistently enjoyable experience of the game. Such a case can be utilitarian; a mere container for the chips, cards and dice, or it might be a luxurious status symbol. There’s something about the luxury of the most elaborate poker chip cases that reminds one of the prestige and expense involved in wearing designer clothing.

Your basic carrying case for your most basic set of poker accessories and chips is a simple, sturdy aluminum. It’s strong, it provides good protection for the contents, yet can unfortunately be a little boring if you want to make something of a splash. Many players who buy their own chip cases are not simply in this for the game alone, but hope to make their personal poker games an outright occasion. The atmosphere of the game can be as important as the playing itself. Chips that resemble casino chips can lend just the right aura to a game.

Some seem to be almost intended as a conversation piece, as you look at the polished, lacquered wood and the velvet interior of the cases, where the clay chips, the cards, the dealer button are nestled. You can hardly imagine pulling out those cards and chips and actually playing a game with them. Others might come in black leather that can handle a little rough treatment, with rather plain but well-made chips, designed to be used. And other cases might get really elaborate, being heavy, two-tiered affairs with chips, cards and dice on a top tray that lifts out to reveal more chips on the lower level.

These days, recreating the smoky backroom atmosphere of an old poker game isn’t what the new generation of poker players really want. Even if you just want to put your head down and play the game, it’s still important to have decent chips and poker cards that won’t bend or tear, as well as a good poker table with good lighting. And after an enjoyable game, easy storage is possible with the many chip cases on the market.
