All eyes are on Full Tilt Poker Phil Ivey this week. He rushed around the Rio, from the $10k Heads Up to the $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold’em/Omaha, to the $3k H.O.R.S.E. Ivey grabbed his second cash of the series in the $1,500 Stud-8 event. Later on the third day, he finished 12th in the Pot-Limit mixed while beginning the H.O.R.S.E. He made it through the final table of that event and then to heads up with Bill Chen.

Ivey was at a big chip short, but that’s not enough to stop the game’s greatest player. The audience felt odd, where most spectators were far more excited than the always impassive Ivey. While Ivey heads up for a bracelet and at the same time everyone knew they were watching history, a sight certain to be repeated many times in the future. Watching him making his way to his eighth bracelet, it was impossible not to feel that the legend of Ivey is just starting.

Phil Ivey fever re-ignited at the 22nd day of the 2010 WSOP one more time. The Full Tilt Poker pro made it through the first day of the heads-up championship event, and survived all the way to the final day of the $2,500 PL Holdem/Omaha event, to set the rail-birding community on fire. For the meantime, two more players made their gold bracelets: Konstantin Puchov, who succeeded in the $1,500 HORSE event and Mike Ellis, who won event #30, the $1,500 NL Holdem event.

Mike Ellis had to best an initiating field of 2,400 players, but it was all worth it: alongside the bracelet, he picked up $581,851 as the winner’s share of the prize-pool. The final day of action was a pretty wearing one in the $1,500 NL Holdem event, 21 players bellied up to the tables at the start of the final stretch of action. Ellis battle on Christopher Gonzales heads-up and it took him almost 3 hours to dispose of his final foe. In the concluding hand of the poker tournament, Ellis made a nut flush on the turn to finally tip the balance his way for good.

PPA is seeking for the public’s support in order to present result to the governing body of the state, all in all their post on the AmericaSpeakingOut.com garnered 75 responses and a total of 742 votes. As a part of Raymer’s statement onAmericaSpeakingOut.com, “In your fight to defend liberty, please protect my right to play poker. In 2006, Congress passed an ill-conceived law that seeks to restrict me from playing poker with other adults over the internet. This misguided prohibition has been a total failure and does nothing to provide necessary consumer protections.”

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) implies a deadline that is set on June 1st. Due to the effort of Raymer, players are invited to generate an account to vote. PPA is situated in Washington D.C that is headed Republican Senator Alfonse D’Amato as Chairman.

His first stuff would be the PokerStars Baltic Festival that will be held in Tallinn, Estonia. He will play as one of the member of Tem PokerStars Pro. He is already familiar with the place, as a matter of fact, he was able to win the Festival’s High Roller event. Taking home the cash prize worth $52,000.

Aside from his other achievements, he was noted as the first Finnish player to take home The World Series of Poker bracelet. Though novice in the group, Wahlbeck’s experience is satisfactory enough to join the popular poker pros. Having one of the most important title in the industry is something to be proud off.

Although other viewers find him new to the industry, he can also be the fun giver during the game. Its not a joke to earn the world title, he also has a great capacity that can heat up the online poker room.

Recently, the debut of the PokerStatic.com was introduced to the public by Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond. The said site shows poker-related video interviews, an audio podcasts of Eric “EB” Bickel and Bret Oliverio. To give a review of the said launching, PokerNewsDaily made an interview with Galfond.

The conversation started as PND asked about the site’s poker podcast and video segment, where Galfond answers, “It seemed like an area we thought we could do pretty well in. We have a different approach and have been looking to focus more on the big online guys than the other sites are. We’re in that community already and have all of those contacts. Getting Bret and EB onboard was pretty big for us too.”

The next question figures the difference of PokerStatic from other site, and Galfond simply says, “We are taking a slightly different approach. We have an edge being in the online community compared to other sites. We have our hand on the pulse of what the online community is into.”

Galfond was also asked if he still join in the BluefirePoker.com and he stated that, “We would like to reissue the challenge at some point, but BluefirePoker.com is going great. We just signed a new pro, Alix Martin, who is a mid-to high-stakes PLO guy. He’s also good at mathematical game theory and is a good fit for our site.”

Lastly, Galfond was asked about the High Stakes Poker and he ended the conversation saying, “It was fun. I played a lot more than I did the first time and got involved in some more big hands. I ended up losing a decent chunk, but had no regrets.”
