There are so many do’s and don’ts when playing in a free poker tournament. The one that gets me the most is when a player is playing every hand slow so that they can try to make money. It makes the game boring and I do not like to play against players who do this.

Now another bad thing to do is act out of turn (fold, call, raise) before it is your turn. This can effect your opponent’s decisions.

Also do not ever discuss your hand you folded or have during the hand.

Criticizing another player is also a big ‘no no’. Using abusive language is not polite and isn’t necessary.

Doing any of these can make players mad and get you penalties in live play.

Poker is all about deceit at times, and playing a bluff is completely acceptable. If you are good enough at bluffing you stand a good chance of putting your opponent in a losing situation.

If you are playing against a professional, they take note of everything you have done to them in previous hands and calculate their position based on this . So remember betting patterns against certain players when you bluff or on a big hand.

Repeating these processes will not make it easy for them to decipher weather you are bluffing or playing the nuts (best hand possible). This will help you in your progression through the field.

Getting caught bluffing is not always a bad thing. This can help you win bigger pots later on. I always try to get caught in a small bluff early in tournaments when blinds are not that high and my stack won’t be too affected by doing so.

I hope that my free poker tournament tips have helped you out, and remember, whether you win or lose do it with dignity.

For starters ‘free online poker‘ of course this means you’re not sitting in a casino but in the comfort of your own home on your computer.

A free online poker tournament is a set number of seats which allows from 100-500 people to join. The free poker type is, as the name says, free to enter, no buy in is required. Others you’ll find do charge an entry fee (buy in) such tournaments tend to have larger cash prizes due to the inherent higher risk.

NoPayPoker for example offers totally free poker tournaments with upto $500 dollars in cash prizes and NO risk of loss as a result of their innovative advertiser supported free poker system.

Poker Tournaments, as opposed to simple single session poker games have placement payouts. So let’s say you and 130 other people join a $500 tournament. The prize money is paid on the top 40 places, paid according to the position finish in.

When free online poker tournaments starts you are automatically sat at a table with 9 other people. Everyone is giving the same number of chips to start which is anywhere from $1200 or $3000.

Tips for Free Online Poker Tournaments

1) In a tournament I play more carefully than I would if I were playing a normal poker game, and will even try to bluff a couple of times.

2) In a poker tournament, when you are out, you are out! Blinds increase every few minutes or number of hands. Try to build up a good stack at every opportunity.

3) Some people will only play the blind hands, that means unless they get high pocket pair they will fold until it’s there turn to post blinds. If you are not lucky enough to have a brilliant hand, then give bluffing a go to help build your stack.

4) The blind is always increasing during the tournament so you need to ensure that you build your stack to account for this. At times you need to take a risk!. Often the best way is to play by your gut, sometimes going all in and putting another player all in could turn out to be your lucky hand or final hand at the table.

5) Reaching the final table with a big stack of chips is always the poker players dream come true. If I have a large chip stack I will sometimes kick back and let the low stackers take each other out of the game unless I am giving good cards. Putting more pressure on a player is easier in a tournament then in regular poker tables as unless you win you cannot re-buy and come back to the tournament.

Online Poker Tournaments Summary

I find tournaments make you stop and think more than if you’re playing a regular holdem table.

Remember, poker is a card game but essentially a numbers game – a game of probability and statistics, you can’t win them all but if you play you’ll win enough to make consistent profits and have a great time!

free online poker tournaments are a fun way to play poker without losing your own money and are also great places to learn and practice your game.

Here are my top techniques on how I play my hands when playing free poker games, poker tournaments, cash games, heads up and sit and go’s.

If poker is a new game or hobby for you then hopefully the tips I can offer will be of great help.

Pocket pairs: Aces the 10s 4 x the big blind. 7s,8s and 9s 2 times the big blind. 6s and lower I just flat call. 4s and under if a big raise is made I fold.

Ace/King to Ace/10 I raise 3x the big blind. Ace/9 and lower I just flat call and depends on the kicker if a raise is made I may just fold. Lower kickers like 2-5 should be folded with a raise made.

I prefer to play mid suited connectors like 7/6 of hearts I’ll play to see a flop no raise just call and if the bet is too high I fold them.

Many players prefer to play small suited connectors, but I prefer to avoid these. Every now and again I will, but it depends on how the other players are playing and my gut feelings.

I will also play connectors i.e: 8/9 off suite for the big blind price.

I fold any card that is more than a 5, unless of course it is a face card.

Any cards that are 3 cards apart ie:7/4 can be played but only at right price and if they are suited.

Cards that are 2 cards apart i.e: 6/4 can be played suited or not for the right price and I never raise with these or call a big raise.

This is just how I like to play my poker, but of course every player is different. Maybe some of my tips will work for you, and some others wont. My best tip is to go with your gut instinct and hopefully it will be right.

Remember, free poker games or for money, poker is a GAME, relax and have fun.

Poker is a card game in which players hide their cards fully or partially, whose purpose is to win the pot, which is the amount of money that was bet all the players in the hand. Player who has the best combination of cards will be awarded the pot. Another way to win in the bank to make a bet that will remain unclaimed.

There are many variants of poker, but they largely follow the same pattern. If you want to play poker in a casino, cards will be dealt with in the house dealer and order rates will be determined by turning the button clockwise between the players. Cards are shuffled and cut by the dealer, and as seen with the players in the appropriate amount and one at a time. In some variations of poker cards are dealt face up, while in others they are considered down. The poker game may consist of several rounds of trade. The game starts with a forced bet that one or more players will need to do and that will be contested by other players.

When the bet is the player, the choice of opponent is folding, calling or funds. When the bet is the player and all his opponents once, the player wins the pot and not has to show their cards. Bluff possible through this way to win the pot. If there is more than one player at the left on the last round, players show their cards and their hands will be estimated. This is called mapping. Since poker has many variations, there are several ways to determine the best poker. But the bottom line is that, at autopsy, the player with the best hand will be awarded the pot.

If you have not played poker in a casino, but on the game site, you must meet some very important conditions in order to make sure that you are not only wasting your time. Body language will no longer give you an advantage here, so you must have the appropriate qualifications. Poker books can only win if you want to be a good poker player. One of the basic rules that poker lessons will teach you to take part until you have the advantage, and leave quickly when you feel that you have lost this advantage. Don’t give up when you are still ahead means adding more money in the bank that you do not win in any case. Being unable to resolve by force the hand you hold, deciding which cards to play, to make better choices about when to fold or bluff, when, being able to create a pot – all of these conditions, who own a poker player must perform. Poker leadership will guide through all stages of the game of poker, providing you with relevant examples. Poker manuals may also check the understanding of the content in a specific module, which was presented to you. Basic, Poker books are a listing of instructions and tips that the player has to follow and participate in a poker game. Poker guide can also offer to take notes on your poker performance.

In general, you will be successful only in poker, if you do wisely, and this is where the leadership of poker handy.

If you just play free poker games for fun then the technical side of the game might not be of so much interest to you. However, if you are interested in increasing your pot and getting more money from your poker play then learning the technical side is essential.

The first thing I felt I needed to know was how pot odds actually worked in order to make the most money I could!

Pot odds, and what it means: The amount of money in the pot compared to the amount you must put in the pot to continue playing. Suppose there is $60 in the pot. Somebody bets $6, so the pot now contains $66. It costs you $6 to call, so your pot odds are 11:1. If your chance of having the best hand is at least one out of twelve, you should call.

Pot odds also apply to draws. For instance, suppose you have a draw to the nut flush with one card left to come. In this case, you are about a 4:1 underdog to make your flush.

If it costs you $8 to call the bet, then there must be about $32 in the pot (including the most recent bet) to make your call correct.

If you are clued up on how pot odds work then you stand a much better chance of winning a game and increasing your cash.

Now, there is one problem with pot odds, and its implied odds, what exactly does this mean? Implied odds are what the future pot will be, knowing how many players are in the hand, and what the final total of the pot could become.

It takes lots of practice, and thinking, but in the long run if you can calculate both in your head, you will learn more of how most top pro’s think while playing, whether its pay poker or free poker games.

An example of implied odds are as followed: First of all are you talking about the flop or turn? Four outs on the flop is about 17% and on the turn about 9 per cent.

So if you are getting 5/1 or better on the flop you should call if you are getting 10/1 or better on the turn you should also call.

You must remember to consider the implied odds and how big the pot may grow, so you might not need exactly the right odds at the time of calling to justify the call if you know the pot will get bigger.

A good rule of thumb on a draw is to have a least 2 other opponents in (this is for an opened straight or a 4 flush).

Most new players will be clueless on the subject, but there is plenty of good sites and books to learn the more advanced ways of thinking and playing, and its always best to be prepared before getting in over your head against advanced players.

Learning just a few methods of playing, will increase your chances of graduating from free poker games for fun to playing high stakes long into the future.

The first rule of good free online poker playing is to have patience. For example, I’ve gone 20 hands or more on various sites and will fold due to terrible cards. In time some good cards will appear. You just have to wait.

A lot of people go all in with an Ace and whatever card they have. This is foolish. Of course 2 Aces are nice but I’d rather bet small and play on nine people’s money than all in and maybe you’ll get one taker. Wait until after the flop to bet. Make sure a possible straight or flush won’t beat you. It’s worth the wait.

Avoid betting on cards that you hope to get in the future. For example you have 4 cards to a straight and someone goes all in. Just fold. Odds are not in your favour to bet.

Playing online poker means that you cannot see if people are using their poker face, but you can still watch players and learn how they play their game. I see a lot of people bet $400 on opening bet and then go all in after flop. These people generally have nothing.

And then you have the Bully player. They have some extra money and bet high every hand. Let them go. Don’t get discouraged. Your hand will come.

If you are a gambler, make sure your down cards will make a straight, or you have a pair. Never bet 2/9, 2/8, K/3 for example. All you have here is a luck bet.

I have found that playing free online poker games to perfect my play is the way to start playing poker, there are many sites that you can play at and not pay a penny but still win real cash.

Poker is all about patience and only a little bit of luck. If you are patient in every game and tournament that you play then you wont go far wrong. Next time you are on the free online poker sites try it out.

A fold up poker table can now be had by anybody to provide your home-based card games a casino feel. The lesser dimensions and decreased delivery rate of these types of tables has made them much more inexpensive. With the fame of broadcasted Texas Hold’em tournaments featuring star people, there has been a new interest in playing poker at home.

Home gaming will in no way be the same. A significant amount has changed from the old days of a towel thrown on top of a dining room table and some cheap plastic poker chips. Now you can play on a felt topped poker table with professional poker chips and even plastic poker cards. The quality and smaller price of a fold up poker table has made this all possible. Improvements in poker chips designed for home use has dramatically changed the game too.

One issue with past poker tables was the cost. Several can be over 1000 bucks raising them out of reach for a good number of buffs. A fold up poker table has a wood top that can be folded in 2 sections, with the legs connected to to each segment. This allows them to be folded to half their length which makes for the lesser shipping cost.

Another drawback with the original poker tables was the quantity of space they used up. They were akin to a billiard table where once they were put up, taking them apart when not wanted was not an alternative. Fold up poker tables can be folded up and put away after the game. This amounted in a great many more fans being able to employ them.

A lot of buffs choose to play at different houses in alternate games. However the old tables were just not moveable. Now you can collapse your table up and take it with you. The problem is they are awfully heavy and still fairly bulky. But it is worth the exertion when you see what it contributes to your playing.

While the tables are great for creating a casino experience to the game, real poker chips do even more. Not like the dime store chips, these come in a number of clay and composite mixtures and have a genuine weight and size. Plastic poker cards are another splendid addition with a silky texture and they can’t be folded, marked, or crimped. They also appear and deal better.

If you are planning a Texas Hold’em tournament in your own house, or just would like to increase some more excitement to your poker games, you cannot top a fold up poker table. Your poker partners will definitely be impressed.

These days there are numerous type of both paid and free poker games to play online and offline. In this article I will name a few and a short explanation on how to play them.

Firstly, the most popular, No Limit Texas Holde’em Poker – The most common of all poker games, whether paying or free online poker. This is also available in a limit style as well. This is played with Blinds (to initiate action) and sometimes antes. You get two hole cards followed by a round of betting.

Next up is the flop, three community cards followed by another round of betting.

After that is the turn (one community card) followed by another round of betting.

Last up is the river same as the turn but final card.

Now for the betting in limit style you can only increase the bets by the minimum value. In no-limit you can bet as much as you want at any point. Best five card hand wins.

The next game is Omaha – Omaha is pretty similar to hold’em, however it is played with 4 hole cards rather than 2. Betting is the same though. Now in this unlike holdem you must use two hole cards and three community cards to make your five card hand.

Next up is Omaha hi-lo – This is played just like straight Omaha but high hand and low hand (eight or lower) split the pot.

Seven card stud – This is played by players being dealt two cards face down and four cards faced up and one card down. After the first two cards dealt down and one up the low card will be what they call the bring in bet this initiated betting etcetera. Now after this is completed a round of betting will occur after each card dealt. Best five card hand wins.

Seven stud hi-lo – This is virtually the same as normal stud, however a the high and low hands split the pot.

Razz – This is a version of seven stud but the best low hand wins.

Badugai – This is a four card triple draw game where the goal is to make best low hand with a card from each suit.

Five card triple draw – This is standard five card draw with 3 draws at making the best low hand.

Finally Horse – This is a mixture of multiple games and is the most difficult one of all.

Hopefully you found my guide to the types of poker games you can play useful. If you are new to poker then my best tip is to play some free poker online and get a feel for the game before hitting the money tables and winning big!.

In today’s tough economy, I had found that while I searched for folding poker tables they turned out to be a not bad expenditure. I was thrilled to stumble on such an assortment of quality and style. The prices were pretty affordable and I did not have to search for an extensive amount of time. The best factor of all was purchasing them on the web, and then having it delivered directly to my front door. It certainly reduced the amount of the foot work. Now that my friends and family see that I own a bunch of them, I delivered them personally to their houses so we all take our turn hosting poker night.

Each of us chipped in and bought the fine professional quality poker chips and the real playing cards too. It tends to make one feel they’re getting a little experience of Vegas. We also worked on buying card shufflers and tournament timers too. There is a lot of fun things to purchase with folding poker tables such as the dealer buttons, poker signs for decorating, and poker card discard holders. The best thing I bought was the thousand poker chip carrier with trays. That keeps things nice and neat. The poker chip cases have space for the chips, cards, and dealer button which was nice for storage.

Sooner or later we are going to unearth the money to host a charity poker competition. We all have our preferred charities so choosing one won’t be an issue. I found that playing on a folding poker table made me a a good deal better player. I began paying closer attention and learning the art of the game. My abilities have greatly improved since the early days of learning to play poker with my father. Looking at my dad’s hardwood table scarred from throwing chips and shuffling the cards, to looking at a padded felt lined poker table with cup holders and padded arm rests, was an immense change for the better. My father would of certainly enjoyed instructing me to play poker on one of these tables.

I suppose the guys like the idea of poker, and the ladies like the idea of the nice felt lined tables. It wasn’t too tough to pick one since they are all so good looking. It does tend to draw more players into the game too. It all appears so realistic with the good clay chips and everything. The only downside we are having now is to try to stop playing and go home! Still I would highly recommend folding poker tables to anyone that enjoys playing poker sporadically or frequently. They fold up and a nice vinyl cover fits over the entire table for simple storage. Of course a few of us have designed a poker room in our houses so it is the center piece of the room. Purchasing a roulette wheel and a poker table top with the roulette arrangement and blackjack markings also added a nice touch.

Folding poker tables really were a great change from a standard folding table where someone constantly spilled their beer or flipped a chip or card off the table.

When I first started playing poker, and even free poker, I was sure that it was a sure fire way to lose money. That is, until I played in my first poker tournament in a live casino.

To my amazement I won the tournament and it gave me a real boost to continue playing. Years on, I am still playing poker and even though I have lost quite a lot of games, I also win quite a lot too and am never really out of pocket.

I find that I am playing poker more and more, especially with the number of online poker sites now available. Yes, I have my favourites, who doesn’t? but I am always trying out new sites to find new players and develop my poker skills where I can.

I do believe that online gaming is much different to live table play which I think is better as you get to feel your enemy and be there literally. I have found that the rule book to playing poker is simply the basics and to play with venom at your own pace with whatever two cards your dealt and are comfortable with.

I think is the best possible way, although a little killer poker from time to time is necessary to enable you to experience the thrill and excitement of true poker.

I do find that online poker is also pretty good, in that you can quite often find lots of new players who are looking to make a bit of cash that you can take out quite easily.

I like to play tight mostly and watch the cards unfold on the flop, as you can imagine I do a lot of folding but since I lost a bit I now play a bit loose if I can and it makes a difference to my bankroll but depletes my bankroll management. I never tire of playing poker, wherever I am playing. The more I play and learn, the more enjoyment I get out of it. My best advice to new players is to try out playing free poker online before hitting any casinos and losing a wad of your own money.
