Causing a your opponent to tilt is an unethical practice. I don’t support it whatsoever but you need to know about this. There will be a time in your life that you’re going to encounter someone who’s pending to become on a life tilt status.
This is the situation wherein they go from stage 2 to last level. This can be a lucrative chance for you. The question is are going to take advantage of the situation or not?
Almost all players who experience a full blown tilt are the better ones. You can see it on the way they act and their faces. Those who tilt for purpose don’t count in this situation.
As for the person who never tilt, he has the advantage of winning the game from the start till the end. As Mike Caro once said, “Among equally skilled opponents it is the player who tilts the least that will come out on top.”
Coping with tilt is very significant for poker players. This is where discipline distributes a big role. If your disciplined enough you’ll know when to stopped because you know the symptoms of someone on tilt. And they know how to avoid tilt while playing.
You can choose to push someone on the edge if they are on tilt depending on how you feel about them. Those are insulting and a jerk during the game deserves to take the nudge (in my opinion).
But if the player is good and you don’t want them to be in trouble, you can tell them that they have to stopped. This will be good for you in the next encounters. Because when you experience what they experience and you decided to help they might bring back the favor for you.
Pushing someone on the edge is not that difficult. A little criticism and telling them that you lie to them after a hand can cause them to tilt more. However, if you want to keep your reputation, untarnished, its better to let them be. A good reputation is a big part of poker. And you might like to have one. This is better than winning a pot or two in a short while.
A poker player’s reputation is important. If you have a good reputation then it will be an advantage for you if you need help in your future games. And it will be the reverse if you have the wrong rep.
A stubborn poker player will meet their match at the right place and at the right time.
