Building a bankroll with a strategy behind it is extremely important to your success as a poker player. Moving down in limits can be hard, but be cautious not to play your game. Most players at the low limits are not the greatest of all time, but some of them are just like you. You can use your skills to your advantage if you need to move down in limits. Playing within your limits is critical to building a bankroll although it may seem like a waste of time because you know you cannot win as much money. This will help your future play when you do move up to the higher limits again.

Playing within your bankroll limits will allow you to be less stressed in hard situations, and this will lead to better decision making at the tables. With every good decision you make, your bankroll will increase, giving you more confidence, and more money to win more money. This will also give you some leeway when playing so you don’t allow your bankroll to be flushed away in one session.

It will take some time, in most cases, to move up to the higher limits. Moving to the higher limits can only be done once you have enough money, and gained some experience. Two factors to consider before you move up to higher stakes is your comfort level and the size of your bankroll. You should only move up in stakes if you have a minimum of 20 buy-ins.
