A study has been issued this year showing millions of hand in a statistical data from POkerstars which established the simple truth that – Poker is game of skill.

But if you’re looking for more proof that the statement is true then you may want to see the results of the 2009 WSOP wherein the top poker players win events, not only one but more.

An outstanding example of a multiple bracelet winner would be Jeff Lisandro – the new King of Stud. He triumph all the events in Stud poker in the WSOP counting Razz, 7-Card-Stud and 7 Card-Stud Hi/Lo.

But Lisandro is not the only one who managed to achieve the feat. There Thang Luu who finished in 2nd place the 2007 $2500 Omaha 8 tournament, then winning the 2008 $1500 Omaha 8 tournament and then preserve his title this year.

In view of the fact that the population of the tournaments have been sizing up every year it would be near unattainable for someone to win a poker tournament much lesser winning multiple ones not unless they have something that give them a great advantage against all the participants.

And not to count the two players mentioned above, there are other who have managed the same feat they have:

Phil Ivey who managed to grab his 6th and 7th bracelets. John Brock Parker who triumph in the 6-Max Limit and 6-Max No Limit events. Roland De Wolfe for completing his quest for gaining the Triple Crown by winning a WSOP event after his WPT and EPT wins. Greg Mueller, former hockey player turned poker pro, who won the $10k Limit Hold ‘Em event as well as the Limit Hold ‘Em shootout. Cashing seven events during the tournament by two famous poker pro Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein.

All of these happened during this year’s WSOP exclusive of the celebrated Main Event. The Main Event is the bread and butter of the poker world wherein the winning will achieve a high popularity factor and a definite chance to cement his reputation in the poker community.

The 2009 WSOP is the year of the professional poker players no matter what the Main Event results will be. As soon as the poker war started you can lift your chin and say “On any given day, anyone can win.”

But don’t be misled by the top lot. They are willing to take on an amateur in their table. Let them assume that he’s an ordinary poker player and I get them by surprised.

So if you doubt that skill is a very important factor in playing poker, then you must look at the 2009 WSOP wherein you’ll see indisputable proof that poker is a game of skill.
