We are aware of the current political discussion regarding online gambling whether it would be sanctioned, controlled or prohibited. But its commonly known as another lobbyist matter. Ordinary American citizens does not really care whatever happens to that issue because it doesn’t influence their day to day lives. But unfortunately for politicians there are rather a small number of groups that care for this issue on either sides of the coin.

Unfortunately for politicians because they are caught in between in this kind of issue in general. Because they also have their own principles and agenda to care about and on one hand there are these small factions who deliberately fund their campaigns and slowly breathing the dragon’s breath on their necks with regards to this issue.

For instance, a first term Congressman from a district who’s generally Republican who have won the preliminaries with only a small amount against his opponent. Showing support in the supporters who are anti UIGEA policy will definitely kill their career in an instant. This is because there are small right wing group who supported this policy like the Focus on the Family and Christian Coalition who are anti gambling factions. Going against this group will not be good for their political career since they can influence the votes of the general population. They will also be guaranteed not to see another term on their career if they will show they are pro online gaming.

Whatever your political inclinations are, you will definitely face pressures from both sides on the issue in your district.

The point here is that, politicians will naturally based their voted on politics and not on their own beliefs on this matter. Whoever holds the heaviest influence in the general population will win the heart of the lawmakers because their careers depends on making the right decisions for the right group of people. The right people will be the ones who can guarantee them another term in their political career and of course funding in their campaigns.
